Oh i have friends in russia. They told me a coworker from a hospital did make an pretty expensive (at least for him) "hobby" course with multicopters. The government paid it. Maybe obvious where this was heading but afterwards its always clearer. So they came to him but he had the choice and than pay the course. Imagine 1000 smart drones flying through a city, knowing exactly where people will be being able to look at cell phone signals to verify that it’s heading towards the right person. There really isn’t much stopping a regular individual from buying the data and being able to do the exact same bang. No matter how you look at this it’s extremely dangerous.

I’m retired Air Force. I ran for president in 2020 and both political parties cheated or I would be sitting in the office right now because I was the one that told the world about COVID-19 had a government.. I ran for president because I know humanity should be doing a lot better than what it is. There’s no logical reason why we don’t write a universal constitution, and we become a single government, which means there’s no reason to fight wars anymore, and we can now put all of our effort into fixing the environment and taking care of each other.. In the meantime, the Ukraine war starts and I owned my first DJI, before the FAA required them to be registered. I’ve been talking about all of their uses for years to something extent. Because I am military, and I have been venting things in the past, I’ve come up with a bunch of ideas of how to Weaponized drones. I’ve also thought about ways of drawing people in to the military system.. This sucks because this is not where we need to go, but on the other hand if we’re going to fight, I’m gonna put up the best ideas. There’s still a bunch of things that I have not seen developed yet that could be done both good and bad with drones.. We need to all act like our responsible adults and use the tools that we invent for the good of humanity. You add AI and drones together and you’re not going to want to see what happens.. it is very possible before this is all over with, And by this I mean World War III, which is what this appears to be, you could have swarms of drones, wiping out entire cities autonomously. People need to start acting like smiles adults for each other, no matter where you live in this world. We need a unified government before we kill each other and we are quite capable as responsible adults of doing exactly that so anyone looking at this needs to start working in that direction or contacting your politicians to work in that direction

It's another branch of the same narrative. My club has just put in a rule no flying any RC aircraft on your own. So, something I've enjoyed and done freely (mainly on my own) for the last 24 years is now too dangerous because an insurance company. MAAA rules or some other governing authority deems it's dangerous. A ruling probably designed from someone driving a spreadsheet working from home.

DJI started the militarization years ago. And dumb westerners bought into it and still are.

DJI actually has as track record of severing ties with third parties that were found to be modifying their drones with military payloads though...

Military hardware -- Ya think? The public might be a little skittish now after watching those videos of death from above from DJI drones dropping nv gas on people. So don't forget to register with the FAA, max penalty a $250,000 fine/3 years in prison for blowing it off. Not for Bruce though, he's snug-as-a-bug in New Zealand while egging on his genius followers in the US to break the law.

Everything in our department stores and from manufacturing of appliances, cell phones, etc. is done in China. Banning DJI doesn’t do anything financially to China the way it would if we said we’re not buying any of the other things they make.

they are trying to take our drones away because the capitalist class knows that we can use them as defense assets in a revolution. i have been preaching this for years. GET ALL THE PARTS YOU POSSIBLY CAN WHILE YOU CAN. i really hope the CCP would cut off the US defense contractors so they'll be forced to source motors and parts elsewhere because they use the same mass produced crap that we do, aside for specialty components such as quiter motors and proprietary boards etc. i am thankful i got ahead of this in 21 because my paranoia spurred me on. I found a seller with a large lot of old school quanum venture's and bought them all. now i have 24 quanum ventures just chilling at a warehouse i'm renting. they are build pretty stout and look the part as well. the idea was to rebuild them all as autonomous uav with RF shielding around the wiring and components, and use optical communication systems instead of mesh. granted that was my idea, but I'm nowhere near done with the AI and people need to realize that most systems are known and easily defeated. you can't rely on gps, or mesh. and you absolutely must RF shield. i am currently trying to figure out how to encrypt optical transmissions, to prevent actors in the field from spoofing optical transmissions to interrupt the swarm.

If they don't kill people with fpv drones, then they'll kill people with RPGs. There is a lower likelihood of collateral civilian casualties with a fpv drone. So it could be argued that military utilization of our "hobby" drones is saving innocent lives?

3D printers are on their way to being restricted too, I bought one in the US and brought it home to Canada and boy oh boy did they aggressively try and get me to say I was printing firearms. Every news outlet has run a lazy 3d printers are for making ghost guns to scare people and you can see restrictions will come in a few years from now

A boot and an FPV drone can both be used as weapons. Especially if you attach explosives to or inside them. A pair of boots sitting alone may look harmless but are they really? It is the explosive component that makes an FPV drone a weapon of war. Explosives are already well regulated. No need to add more regulations to drones without adding regulations to footwear as well. In Ukraine Surface vehicles are getting in on the explosive action too. Gonna have to register your Traxxas boats and cars next. I think we just need to have all Karens registered and taxed.

Usually the military will use a more militarized company to build there equipment. If they really wanted something built they would go to DARPA. There up to something.

For what it's worth this was coming from a long way off. The Ukrainian- Russia conflict has proven that this technology far to efficient to be in the hands of the people. This is why the DHS is freaking out and wanting to make it harder for us. Can you think of anyone that would possibly be teaching us soldiers how to FPV?

Drones were military long before it was a hobby.

fpv isnt bad but you as a company make fpv drones for war that is bad having to make money is no excuse i dont buy from rotorriot or dji anymore

I remember the first time DJI drones were used in the war in Ukraine. Then I told my friends that this was the beginning of the end of the hobby and apparently, I was right. Moreover, the first use of consumer drones in this war came as a generous act of solidarity with the people of Ukraine and nobody asked how a company that does not produce weapons can be used to arm armies. Today the US government is worried that DJI could spy on US officials but has nothing against using the technology for the war in Ukraine. Based on this approach we can predict how AI will be used when the technology becomes mature enough.
